Hello kingfisher people! Today we had venture-planned activity and I believe the sec 1s benefited the most out of this activity with different interesting stations teaching the sec 1s basic needs and information regarding scouting, that will help them in attaining WSB during overnight. The station games were indeed enriching, and freshened the sec2/3s memories and skills that were lost over the years.

'Extra' activities held to 'kill time' or 'add more points' to the scores were nice since most of it was cheering and come on KF, we can do better than what we did just now, right? And I sang that lovely song for you guys in the atrium *awwwww* ;)

There are three major events for the camp:

• Cooking Race

- Day 1 Dinner

- Weightage are as such:

Presentation 25%

Sufficiency 25%

Taste 30%

Hygiene 20%

- Penalties when budget is exceeded by 10% and 50% off when MSG/stock is used.

• Campfire

- Roughly 5 minute skit/song/performance

- Counted in inter-patrol standings

- Balloting

• Investiture

- Ensure uniform is up to standard

- Investing new members and post holders

- A solemn ceremony to be taken seriously

General Tips and Guides

- Waterproof all items. Place all clothing/equipment in Ziploc bags to waterproof your items. It should be airtight and waterproof such that if it was thrown in a swimming pool, your items can be recovered, dry and in good condition.

- Refer to the picture at the back for your inspection format. Inspection takes place at the start of the camp and the key to it is standardization. Focus on standardizing the location of items, as quality is paramount. Ensure rows are aligned.

- Make sure you have necessary uniform parts before the camp. Bring a hanger along as it’s important to make sure your uniform is not creased. (refer to picture at the back to see position of badges)

- Label your items so they won’t get misplaced.

- Rest well before the camp.

- Last but not least, do note that parts of the camp are meant for us to have fun and forge patrol bonds, and also at times, there is a need for seriousness, especially the investiture, where it is a solemn ceremonial event. Respect your scout uniform, respect others, and respect yourself.

HI kingfishers!

Today was sec 1 orientation! It was fun, exciting and we got to know the GC a little bit better! The sec 1s are now more or less familiar with the scout group and we have to put in a little bit more effort to ensure that they feel really welcomed and we make them part of us. The activities were well-planned, cool storyline, and the sec 1s seemed to have spoke up and be a little more enthusiastic - a good sign. Orientation is over, we had fun. Overnight is coming up! More fun ahead!

Hi people! So today we had induction - the very first act for sec 1s. First of all we did icebreakers to make sure the sec 1s know the rest of the patrol and then we had station games, which to say the least - were.... educational and interesting. The sec 1s learnt new songs, made new friends and let's hope for the best in the start of their scouting journey. :D (ps: 2/3 of the sec 1s had same aggregate as me lol)

HELLO AWESOME AND COOL PEOPLE.

Yesterday we had structure games which was very fun and we played around with ropes and poles and as a result, I had this cool blister which tore open and then I went home and put a plaster and now it's a healing booboo :) The sec1s came in yesterday! (no twss pl0x). Let's show them what all 01 is about. Be nice to them, and don't teach them the wrong things. After all, we are their seniors, they look up to us. We be good, they'll be good. Simple? Yes.
